A fun multi-event indoor athletics competition, enabling our young athletes to compete in running, jumping and throwing events, in teams of 6 or more. A friendly competition that helps improve fitness, co-ordination and confidence.
The local event is held at the Guildford Spectrum Leisure Centre. Dorking and Mole Valley AC has produced talent that has gone on to represent Surrey in the regional events, and some have progressed to represent South East England competing in the National Sportshall finals.
A series of track and field events for boys in the under 11 to under 17 age groups, which take place during the summer months. There are a total of 11 clubs taking part, split between 2 divisions. DMVAC compete in a joint team with Reigate Priory AC in Division 2. The league is a great way for boys to experience a full range of track and field events, including new events such as hurdles and discus. Every boy is encouraged to take part to help the club maintain a competitive focus.
A series of track and field events for girls in the under 11 to under 17 age groups, which take place during the summer months. The league provides an early entry into competitive athletics. Girls can compete in three individual events plus a relay which supports the athlete in a multi-event approach. 12 clubs across Surrey take part; many athletes who have competed in the league have gone on to represent their county and compete internationally in their specialist events.
As a join team with Holland Sports, we compete in the Youth Development League. The lower league is for boys and girls U15, and the upper league is for boys and girls U17/U20. The league offers older age groups an extra opportunity to compete in a range of track events.
The Southern Athletics League takes place at a variety of venues across South West London. There are 4 races between May and August. The league offers a variety of track and field events. DMVAC competes in a joint team with Reigate Priory AC and Holland Sports AC. This league is open to all athletes U17+ and is mixed with adults.
The Surrey League is the UK’s premier cross country league. Events are held at various locations across Surrey and South West London, including West Horsley Place, Effingham Common, Denbies, Epsom Downs, Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common. There are 4 races between October and February each winter.
Currently 16 clubs field teams in the junior races. There is a requirement of 4 runners per team to score, however clubs can enter as many athletes as they wish.
U13: ~3km
U15/U17: ~4.5km
Once athletes move into the U20 category they can compete in the club’s senior Surrey League teams.
The Downs League takes place at Epsom Downs, there are several races across the winter from November to March. This event is perfect for first time cross country. It is very relaxed with boys and girls running together.
U11: ~2.2km
U13/U15/U17/U20: ~3.2km
At the Guildford Spectrum Leisure Centre, this annual meeting includes short distance sprint to 600m run events, long jump and a vortex howler throw.
Children under 10 may run with an adult. Under 16s run the short course.
This league is mixed with adults.
