Cross Country Events

Surrey Cross Country League

DMVAC are one of the 43 running clubs who are affiliated to the league.  There are four cross country races a year generally held in October, November, January and February.  In addition to the adults both the men’s and ladies’ divisions also host races for the juniors.

Who can compete?

Any member of Dorking and Mole Valley AC who is registered with England Athletics can compete.  If not already registered with England Athletics, this can be done via the club membership portal and selecting the subscription "EA licence".  

  • Mens races - first two races approx 8km, third and fourth approx 12km
  • Junior Boys - Under 17’s running 4KM and the Under 13’s 2.9KM
  • Womens races - first two races are approximately 6KM and the third and fourth race are 8KM long.
  • Junior Girls - Under 17’s running 4.5KM and the Under 13’s 3.2KM

The team managers will need your England Athletics URN (licence) number and your date of birth.

Surrey XC Championships

Usually held at Denbies Vineyard, Dorking, Surrey, RH5 6AA or at Lloyd Park, Croydon on first weekend of January each year.  See calendar for more details of time and location.

Senior Women
Distance: 8.4Km
Teams of 4 to score.
Cut off time: 60 mins

Senior Men
Distance: 12.2 Km
Teams of 6 to score.
Cut off time: 90 mins

 

Southern Cross Country Main Championships

Usually held in January - check the calendar for the latest update.

Senior Women
Distance: 8.0Km
Teams of 4 to score.

Senior Men
Distance: 15.0 Km
Teams of 6 to score.
Cut off time: 60 mins by the start of the 3rd lap (approx 10k point), or 90 mins overall.

Medals will be awarded to the first three placed competitors and the scoring team members of the first three placed “A” teams in each group.  A plaque will be awarded to the winning team and the winning individual in each race.

English National Cross Country Championships

Usually held in February each year.

Surrey Masters Cross-Country Championships

 

 

 

 

 

A cross country event for veterans V40 men and W35 women and over. 

Typically 2 races:

  • Women and Men M60+.  Distance: Approx 6km
  • Men M40 and M50.  Distance: Approx 9km

Medals awarded to individuals in 5 year categories.  Categories from M40 and W35.  For teams, medals for Men 40/50/60 and Women 35/45/55.  The first 3 finishers from each age group will score.
